The Ultra Fog micronized water fire suppression systems offer innovative and effective solutions for applications that require optimal fire suppression while minimizing the volume of water consumed and used.
How does an Ultra Fog intelligent fire suppression system work?
When the fire system is activated, high-pressure pumps drive water through the Ultra Fog stainless steel nozzles, discharging the water as millions of tiny droplets, typically ranging between 30 and 200 µm in diameter. An activated system creates a blanket of micronized water droplets that maximizes heat absorption from the fire and, subsequently, displaces oxygen as the water evaporates and expands. The micronization turns into vapor.
What is the difference between a traditional sprinkler system and an Ultra Fog system?
Micronized water systems differ from traditional sprinkler systems by the unique ability of micro-droplets to present a much larger water surface area (allowing for rapid heat absorption), combined with the capability of the micronization to remain suspended in the air for a longer period of time, which increases the exposure time needed for heat absorption to be effective. This allows micronized water systems to cool and suppress fires using significantly less water than sprinkler systems.
Micronized water fire protection systems provide total protection for all types of enclosures. This is because the micronized droplets, along with the oxygen present in the enclosure, form the basis of the fire. When the micronized water turns into vapor (expanding in volume), it displaces the oxygen necessary for combustion, removing it from the flame.
This total protection effect quickly moistens and cools the burning surface.
